Hi, I’m Kristin—I’m glad you’re here! I started Van Gompel Education after countless conversations with teachers who felt ready to grow in their careers but weren’t sure where to begin. Those conversations made it clear: educators need accessible, practical guidance to help them take their career to the next level—whether staying in the classroom or exploring new opportunities beyond it.

I’ve spent over 20 years in education, teaching at every level from preschool to graduate school. My heart has a special place for 4th grade, especially California History! Alongside my teaching career, I’ve worked in curriculum, professional learning, instructional design, gamification, corporate training, customer success, and educational technology. I currently teach in an education graduate program at a local university and have spent the last decade mentoring and training fellow educators as they shape their own paths.

I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband, Gabe, and our three adventurous boys. We love exploring, hiking, and sailing together as a family.

Lately, I’ve been especially interested in pedagogical frameworks that help students develop 21st-century skills. I’m passionate about helping teachers build fulfilling, sustainable careers while keeping their love for education alive.
